Military Mode

Jacket - LOFT | Jeans -Zara | White Top - Vero Moda | Pumps - Zara | Bag - Mango | Midi rings - Aldo | Sunglasses - Zara  | Watch - GUESS

A utility jacket is undeniably one of those basic wardrobe pieces and a favourite of the style soldiers and is also a great staple piece for fall. With the slight dip in temperatures now you can get your jackets and blazers out.
If camouflage prints are not your way then you can sport the military trend with a olive/army green jacket.
With this army green jacket you can go classic or be fashion forward. Whether in trend or not this particular style never goes out of fashion.

I added this light weight military jacket to my closet last fall.As you can see there is nothing feminine about the jacket like some jackets which are embellished ...etc.Hence to soften up the look and make it more feminine I paired it with skinny denims.I personally think such utility jackets were made to give you an immensely casual and comfortable look.Nothing much needs to be done the jacket does everything for the outfit.

Its a perfect layering piece for fall.If you are looking for sporting cammo/military trend you can even try cammo printed shirts.I have off lately spotted many cammo printed shirts in sheer, embellished, with spikes.

Do you have a military or army green jacket in your wardrobe if not you are missing a very versatile piece.

Your everyday and everywhere bag should be one which you can carry of with anything and everything. This black doctor bag of mine is one such bag which looks good with everything.I have styled it twice, once with denim (here) and second with a dress (here). The colour of the bag being black is one of the reasons it gels so well with many outfits. One thing to keep in mind while choosing a everyday bag is pick up a bag in neutral colours.

Teal Tale

Blazer-ASOS | Pants - Forever 21 | Tank Top - Sonia Kalapi | Bracelet,Rings - Forever New | Clutch - Local Boutique | Sunglasses - GUCCI | Lips - MAC Ruby Woo

These teal pants are the closest thing that I own to coloured pants. When I bought these pants I had actually gone out looking for emerald green pants ,emerald green being the pantone of the year and all you see.I had seen the beauty blogging front going gaga over emerald green so I thought of incorporating it in my wardrobe.
But in my chase for emerald green I stumbled on these gorgeous teal pants and when I compared these teal pants with emerald green I was more attracted towards these teal pants.

Teal is such a sophisticated mixture of blue and green.I usually wear it with a white , black or a beige shirt/top keeping the look pretty much simple adding just a few accessorises and focussing more on the pants. Here I thought of jazzing up the look just a little bit by adding a beige blazer and a butterfly prints tank.

Keeping up with fall trends you can check Fall/Winter trends here which includes prints and hues of blue and green.

If you have already tried siren red, electric blue, mint or pastel coloured pants or are not much into these shades you can try colours such as teal,burgundy/oxblood,brick,olive green.

Casually Cropped

Crop shirt - Topshop | Jeans - Zara | Satchel Bag,Necklace - Accessorize |
Knuckle/Midi rings - Aldo | Ring - Forever New | Sunglasses - Persol | Lipstick -  MAC  Mehr

Crop tops have been very much in trend and are available in endless arrays of style ,colours and fabrics some showing midriffs and some just till belly buttons. When paired with a high-waisted skirt/jeans , palazzo pants or a maxi skirt, a good crop top will never let you down.
Paring crop tops with high waisted bottoms is a excellent way to balance out the look.
Crop top is a very laid back piece made for those lazy and slow days.

I was looking for this blue and white polka dots combination for a long time but found it only in denim and that didnt look quite comfortable given the weather. The boxy crop shape of this shirt gives a very relaxed and comfortable feel. This look works best with a high waisted bottom to balance out the extra volume on top.

Just because its a crop top dosent mean you have to show your midriff and  the length of this crop shirt is just perfect for me.

Winter whites is a chic trend to try.White pants are a great base for working a colourful look on your top half. You can check Fall/Winter trends here which includes winter whites.

Trend Driven

Wearable trends of fall winter 2013

Here are my favourite trends for the season:

Winter Whites

Who said whites could only be worn in summers.White pants are usually reserved for the scorching summer but one can pair them with colored pieces and statement jewellery or you can keep your look crisp in winter with a white blazer. From snowy hues to creams and ecrus add glamour and elegance to your wadrobe with some winter whites.

Hues of Green

Emerald green has been the pantone of the year and hues of green are gonna be huge this season.Summer has been delightful with shades of emerald green and winter its gonna be olive green, army green, military colors and camouflage prints.Get ur hands on those military/cammo jackets or cargo pants to sport this trend.

Plaids

A quintessential fall trend Plaids, tartan, checks whatever u may like plaid has always been a fall favourite. Make sure u invest in a plaid jacket or a plaid shirt this winter.Plaid shirt is a good option to sport this trend given the weather we have. You can check out this trend here.

Pink

Its time to swap your neons with some powder pinks and embrace the cooler temperature with a cool color palatte. In fact, there are two shades of pink that are trending this season, sweet shades of rosy pinks and cotton candy pink which are delicate shades and the other, the bright fuchsia.

Blue

Hues of blue namely cobalt blue, navy blue are your color du jour this season.Dark and intense navy blue is a nice upgrade from black.Navy blue is one of the best hues of blue to wear.

Prints Play

Leopard prints,a fun and stylish print and a tricky one to master.
Floral prints with a little dark twist going deep and moody and a dark color palette keeps them fall appropriate.
Heart prints,Quirky prints,Geometric prints,Houndstooth  many to choose from this fall.

Dash of Dots

Dress -Zara | Blazer - ASOS | Shoes - Zara | Sunglasses - Chanel | Accessories -   Forever 21,Colaba | Bag - Local Boutique(here) | Lips - Inglot Matte AMC Lip Crayon No. 21(here)

Polka dot dresses are so capricious, fanciful, girly and have a lovely retro vibe. It’s a vintage trend that women from around the world have fallen in love with.
Polka dots come in a wide variety of colours and styles that can suit everyone. Its universal appeal and style quotient make it a must have in your wardrobe.

For me smaller sized dots work better than larger ones. The size of these dots are pretty ideal for me.The breezy silhouette, flattering belted waist, and pretty pleated detailing makes the outfit perfect for a formal event or a casual outing.I have layered the dress here with a beige blazer.

Blazers are your dresses best friends. While layering a dress always keep in mind the silhouette of the dress and length of the blazer/jacket.I always love to layer my dress with a comfortable blazer.

This time I decided to ditch my heels and went for comfy flats.Ballet flats are a super chic alternative to high heels have always been my favourite. A pair of black ballet flats is a must have in your wardrobe.

Add a Dash of Dots to your wardrobe with these lovely Polka dots..

Free Spirit

Top - Charlotte Russe(similar) | Skirt - Vero Moda | Bag - Mango(worn here) | Sandals - Charles and Keith | Accessories - Colaba | Lips - Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Curviest Caramel (here)

When it comes to skirts for me the longer the better.I personally am a big fan of pleated skirts.Just how wonderfully it transforms a otherwise simple outfit to a classy one.
Maxi skirt is an epitome of ease , modest yet fashionable and available in lots of trendy and gorgeous styles like semi sheer, pleated, side slit..etc.This trend can be worn in various styles but it is very essential to know the basics. With the help of right  top, accessories, footwear various styles can be created with this single piece.
The right amount of each element can transform this hippi chic look to a very stylish, comfortable and casual one.
There's something I have always loved about maxi skirts. I adore the fact that they are so comfortable and move with such grace and elegance.
Maxi skirts and dresses very much help in elongating your frame. The light weight and flowy nature gives a very relaxed feel. The best part is how immensly versatile this skirt is when transitioning from day to night look.

I used to believe that maxi skirts and dresses are just not made for petites and could be carried well only by tall lasses. The secret to it is understanding the fit.The skirt should sit on the smallest part of ur waist, Choose a flowy style but not too baggy, the hem should hit right below the anklebone. These pointers can help you find a great fitting maxi skirt.

Maxi skirts are the new favourite for me.The ease with which it can be dressed up or down is probably its strongest selling point for me.

Take a mini break from your regular outfits to indulge in these adorable and graceful maxis..

Lip Crayons

L-R  Clinique Chubby Stick Intense - Plushest Punch , Inglot Matte AMC Lip Crayon No 22 , 28(worn here), 21 , Clinique Chubby Stick Intense - Curviest Caramel

The Lip Crayon bug has bit me too.Almost every cosmetic brand is coming up with their versions of these cute lip crayons. These little chubby crayons are so efficient and easy to use and also fuss free application.Thats specifically the reason why I find myself drawn to lip crayons. Each crayon provides an intense colour and the crayon glides onto lips with ease and stays put for a pretty long time.

While it may not be a new invention, it’s definitely becoming more popular from drug store to high-end makeup brands.

From the glossy to matte, well pigmented to sheer formulas there seems to be one to suit every preference and in the absolute sea of these lip crayons I have picked my favourites in the matte and glossy versions. The twist up packaging is a plus point for me as I am not a big fan of crayons which require sharpening.

I find myself more inclined towards matte lip crayons being such a matte lippy lover,as you can see the matte team outnumbers the glossy team.

The Inglot crayons are super pigmented, non drying and long lasting while the Clinique ones are very much moisturising and don't feel heavy on the lips.

These are my current favourite Lip Crayons.Have you tried these Lip Crayons.

Plaided

            Blazer- Globus | Tank- Charlotte Russe | Jeans - Zara | Bag - Local Boutique | Watch-Guess | Frames,Rings - Forever21  | Lipstick - Inglot Matte AMC Lip Crayon No. 28

Plaid is one of those timeless and classic prints.Plaid is a versatile and fun piece to have in your wardrobe. In simplest terms, plaid clothing is little more than checked pattern garments that may be bold and bright, like a tartan, or somewhat more subdued. The key to wearing plaid is by pairing it with neutral and simple pieces or items that are in the same tone and hue as the print.Plaid influences can be seen every where be it clothing or accessories.Plaid can break a plain outfit when you want some pattern.
Here I have tried to maintain a similar hue across the outfit by teaming a grey plaid blazer with a black tank and light blue jeans. The puffed sleeves accentuate the femininity of the outfit. Also, one of my favourite bags these days which carry almost everywhere.

If you’re not looking to do an all-out plaid ensemble, you add accent touches to your look a little with some adorable plaid accessories such as a plaid scarf ,bags, flats, hair accessories.Look for plaid fabrics to add to your wardrobe and get ready to stand out and don that plaid outfit.
