Monsoon Brights

Top,Pants - Zara | Bag - Dorothy Perkins from Jabong.com | Midi Rings - Aldo | Pearl Bracelet - Zara | On my nails - Maybelline Feisty Fuschia

I have this love hate relationship with rains and this year we have been waiting for monsoons with much anticipation.I do love the sweet smell of earth when the first showers hit the ground and also heavy rains but only when I am sitting at home sipping some green tea.Every time it rains I just dread getting out of the house. In monsoons for me there is no such day as a good hair day.It is quite a dilemma on how to arrive anywhere looking presentable.

During monsoons, it is better to be cautious about what outfit, make up and accessories you choose. The emphasis should be more on no fuss comfortable clothing.Adding a dose of rich vibrant colours to otherwise dull day is the way to go.Its best to wear easily drying light fabrics in monsoon. In monsoon again its difficult to wear denims and thats why I picked these light fabric blue pants for this post. Its bright to counter a dull day and the fabric is light and dries easily.Blue and black&white is a classic combination you can never go wrong with it.Monsoons bring dark gloomy days, so to cheer up your mood bring out those bold polka dots, aztec, geometric prints. Now coming to these black heels I have worn these because the look required it otherwise we cannot wear anything other than monsoon friendly footwear.

And as every year I do I am reminding myself not to stay gloomy like the weather but welcome the beautiful rains with a happy and cheerful face and also hopefully enjoy them till they last.
Keep the above tips in mind dont let the rains be a dampener and hit the monsoons in style.

Casually Cropped

Crop shirt - Topshop | Jeans - Zara | Satchel Bag,Necklace - Accessorize |
Knuckle/Midi rings - Aldo | Ring - Forever New | Sunglasses - Persol | Lipstick -  MAC  Mehr

Crop tops have been very much in trend and are available in endless arrays of style ,colours and fabrics some showing midriffs and some just till belly buttons. When paired with a high-waisted skirt/jeans , palazzo pants or a maxi skirt, a good crop top will never let you down.
Paring crop tops with high waisted bottoms is a excellent way to balance out the look.
Crop top is a very laid back piece made for those lazy and slow days.

I was looking for this blue and white polka dots combination for a long time but found it only in denim and that didnt look quite comfortable given the weather. The boxy crop shape of this shirt gives a very relaxed and comfortable feel. This look works best with a high waisted bottom to balance out the extra volume on top.

Just because its a crop top dosent mean you have to show your midriff and  the length of this crop shirt is just perfect for me.

Winter whites is a chic trend to try.White pants are a great base for working a colourful look on your top half. You can check Fall/Winter trends here which includes winter whites.

Dash of Dots

Dress -Zara | Blazer - ASOS | Shoes - Zara | Sunglasses - Chanel | Accessories -   Forever 21,Colaba | Bag - Local Boutique(here) | Lips - Inglot Matte AMC Lip Crayon No. 21(here)

Polka dot dresses are so capricious, fanciful, girly and have a lovely retro vibe. It’s a vintage trend that women from around the world have fallen in love with.
Polka dots come in a wide variety of colours and styles that can suit everyone. Its universal appeal and style quotient make it a must have in your wardrobe.

For me smaller sized dots work better than larger ones. The size of these dots are pretty ideal for me.The breezy silhouette, flattering belted waist, and pretty pleated detailing makes the outfit perfect for a formal event or a casual outing.I have layered the dress here with a beige blazer.

Blazers are your dresses best friends. While layering a dress always keep in mind the silhouette of the dress and length of the blazer/jacket.I always love to layer my dress with a comfortable blazer.

This time I decided to ditch my heels and went for comfy flats.Ballet flats are a super chic alternative to high heels have always been my favourite. A pair of black ballet flats is a must have in your wardrobe.

Add a Dash of Dots to your wardrobe with these lovely Polka dots..
