Newfangled Nuances

Blazer - Zara | High waist jeans - Only | Tank top - Local Boutique | Platform Heels - Zara | Sunglasses - Prada | Lipstick - Mac Ruby Woo

Off lately I have been favoring high rise pants a lot as you all have seen in my recent posts.Since monsoons seemed to have taken a break a few days back I promptly came up with this look and found an excuse to wear denims. From trousers to skinny jeans and even shorts, all of these styles come with a high-waist alternative and are available in a wide spectrum now a days. Most of us might think its such an odd trend.Once you discover which styles suits you, you can experiment with different patterns.

When paired rightly they can be more flattering than you’d think.I have previously paired these high waist jeans with a crop top, which you can check on my Instagram profile. One can see the versatility of high rise pants by the variation of the looks I have created and that is the reason this style has become my new favourite. I have paired my high rise pleated trousers with a blouse here creating a illusion of a jumpsuit. The same pleated trousers I have paired with a crop top in my previous post. This style is surely a boon for petite girls because it gives a long, lean look and helps in creating an elongated frame.

After a really long time I am back to layering blazers on the blog. Its not time yet to get the fall blazers out, at such times a light weight thin fabric blazer is a suitable alternative. This white blazer is one of my recent sale finds. I was not very keen on picking up a white blazer but the long lapels, the blazer's length and especially the light fabric which makes it very monsoon appropriate caught my interest.

Also, I have never paired high waisted jeans with a long blazer hence I was eager to try this combination. To complete the look I have added a casual tank top, my favourite silver stacklaces (a word for stacked necklaces which I recently came across on Instagram) and platform heels. In case you want to know more about the stacked silver necklaces you can read this post Stacking Statements.

Hope I have given you enough reasons to steer away from low-cut jeans and enough pointers to embrace the high waist style.

Back to the Roots

Crop top - Masaba Gupta | Pleated Trousers - Zara | Midi Ring - Valliyan by Nitya Arora | Bag - Steve Madden | Shoes - Zara | Sunglasses - Marc Jacobs | Watch - Michael Kors | Lipstick - MAC Ruby Woo | Nails - Maybelline Color Show Keep up the flame

Crop tops have seen a major revival. These cute crop tops I don't think  are going out of trend any sooner. Everyone seems to be too comfortable with crop tops.Crop tops in my opinion when styled correctly can be versatile and flattering.I have already styled a cute crop top with a maxi skirt here and also a cropped shirt here. This time I decided to pair it with high rise pleated trousers. To make the look stylish and chic I have added statement accessories and heels. To turn this look into a casual one, one could go sans any heavy jewellery and add flat sandals and a tote.

Sometimes while putting an outfit together selecting a neutral item and later working bold pieces around it is an apt way. When you have a nice bold print, mixing it with a neutral piece helps in maintaining subtleness in the outfit.

I didn't settle for the regular conventional solid, floral or logo crop tops, something bold which would make a statement was what I was looking for.Seldom you come across pieces with Indian ethnic traits which remind you of your roots and yet can be carried so effortlessly in a western look. The striking modern take on these ethnic symbols grabbed my attention. The rich fabric and the vibrant colour make it more appealing. With such crop tops you can go both traditional or western.

You guys already know what a midi rings buff I am.This beautiful statement midi ring is the newest addition to my midi ring stash.

Colourburst

Shirt - ZARA | Skirt - Mango | Shoes - ZARA | Watch - GUESS | Rings - Forever New | Sunglasses - Dior | Clutch - Inc 5

The weather has been very hot since last few weeks and as you have seen in my previous outfit posts I have been mostly wearing light and comfortable summer appropriate clothing.I got this pleated skirt last year and had totally forgotten about this skirt until a Trendy Tuesday post about Pleats that I did on the blog's Facebook page reminded me of it.
Since pleats are back in trend what better time then now.Although this pleated skirt reminds of summer it works in almost any setting.Pleated skirts look chic in any length and colour. This type of skirt will make you look even more feminine. Pleated skirts, especially those made from soft fabrics are among the most stylish skirts for summer.
I find the colour of the skirt very lively, it has just the right amount of brightness.I have paired this beautiful skirt with a scarf print button up.
Such solid coloured pleated skirts can be easily paired with white/black tops or button ups and a pair of high heels to complete the look.To compensate for the brightness of the skirt I have added nude heels. The glaring sun gives you an excuse to invest in good protective sunglasses and so have I in these beautiful Diorline sunglasses.

New Beginnings

Top - Marks and Spencer | Skirt - Zara | Sandals - Pavers England | Earrings - Aquamarine | Watch - Michael Kors | Rings,Midi Rings - Aldo | Sunglasses - Tom Ford | Clutch - Inc.5

Beginning of a new year is an excellent time for a fresh start. With new years and new beginnings I am always looking forward to try new things in the coming year learn new things, try something new,set new goals, try to visit new places the same way last year I thought of starting this blog.

Keeping this thing in mind I wanted this post to be a style or an outfit which I had not yet tried on the blog before and that's how I landed with this beautiful printed pencil skirt.

The versatility of this skirt lies in how you can easily transition it into different looks. This printed version of the pencil skirt will look unquestionably powerful during the day and equally chic and fun for evening.
I like the high waist midi length pencil skirts it gives a very retro look.Pair it with a beautiful blouse for a day look and with a peplum top for a evening look.Since pencil skirts are so fitted I like to pair them with loose tops.

When I was bringing this outfit together first I thought of something like clashing prints but that didn't come out well , then adding a lace number but again it looked over the top and finally I settled for this beautiful top which gives that lacey feel but doesn't look OTT. And then to finish off the look some contemporary jewellery and a rounded box clutch

Teal Tale

Blazer-ASOS | Pants - Forever 21 | Tank Top - Sonia Kalapi | Bracelet,Rings - Forever New | Clutch - Local Boutique | Sunglasses - GUCCI | Lips - MAC Ruby Woo

These teal pants are the closest thing that I own to coloured pants. When I bought these pants I had actually gone out looking for emerald green pants ,emerald green being the pantone of the year and all you see.I had seen the beauty blogging front going gaga over emerald green so I thought of incorporating it in my wardrobe.
But in my chase for emerald green I stumbled on these gorgeous teal pants and when I compared these teal pants with emerald green I was more attracted towards these teal pants.

Teal is such a sophisticated mixture of blue and green.I usually wear it with a white , black or a beige shirt/top keeping the look pretty much simple adding just a few accessorises and focussing more on the pants. Here I thought of jazzing up the look just a little bit by adding a beige blazer and a butterfly prints tank.

Keeping up with fall trends you can check Fall/Winter trends here which includes prints and hues of blue and green.

If you have already tried siren red, electric blue, mint or pastel coloured pants or are not much into these shades you can try colours such as teal,burgundy/oxblood,brick,olive green.
