Newfangled Nuances

Blazer - Zara | High waist jeans - Only | Tank top - Local Boutique | Platform Heels - Zara | Sunglasses - Prada | Lipstick - Mac Ruby Woo

Off lately I have been favoring high rise pants a lot as you all have seen in my recent posts.Since monsoons seemed to have taken a break a few days back I promptly came up with this look and found an excuse to wear denims. From trousers to skinny jeans and even shorts, all of these styles come with a high-waist alternative and are available in a wide spectrum now a days. Most of us might think its such an odd trend.Once you discover which styles suits you, you can experiment with different patterns.

When paired rightly they can be more flattering than you’d think.I have previously paired these high waist jeans with a crop top, which you can check on my Instagram profile. One can see the versatility of high rise pants by the variation of the looks I have created and that is the reason this style has become my new favourite. I have paired my high rise pleated trousers with a blouse here creating a illusion of a jumpsuit. The same pleated trousers I have paired with a crop top in my previous post. This style is surely a boon for petite girls because it gives a long, lean look and helps in creating an elongated frame.

After a really long time I am back to layering blazers on the blog. Its not time yet to get the fall blazers out, at such times a light weight thin fabric blazer is a suitable alternative. This white blazer is one of my recent sale finds. I was not very keen on picking up a white blazer but the long lapels, the blazer's length and especially the light fabric which makes it very monsoon appropriate caught my interest.

Also, I have never paired high waisted jeans with a long blazer hence I was eager to try this combination. To complete the look I have added a casual tank top, my favourite silver stacklaces (a word for stacked necklaces which I recently came across on Instagram) and platform heels. In case you want to know more about the stacked silver necklaces you can read this post Stacking Statements.

Hope I have given you enough reasons to steer away from low-cut jeans and enough pointers to embrace the high waist style.

Back to the Roots

Crop top - Masaba Gupta | Pleated Trousers - Zara | Midi Ring - Valliyan by Nitya Arora | Bag - Steve Madden | Shoes - Zara | Sunglasses - Marc Jacobs | Watch - Michael Kors | Lipstick - MAC Ruby Woo | Nails - Maybelline Color Show Keep up the flame

Crop tops have seen a major revival. These cute crop tops I don't think  are going out of trend any sooner. Everyone seems to be too comfortable with crop tops.Crop tops in my opinion when styled correctly can be versatile and flattering.I have already styled a cute crop top with a maxi skirt here and also a cropped shirt here. This time I decided to pair it with high rise pleated trousers. To make the look stylish and chic I have added statement accessories and heels. To turn this look into a casual one, one could go sans any heavy jewellery and add flat sandals and a tote.

Sometimes while putting an outfit together selecting a neutral item and later working bold pieces around it is an apt way. When you have a nice bold print, mixing it with a neutral piece helps in maintaining subtleness in the outfit.

I didn't settle for the regular conventional solid, floral or logo crop tops, something bold which would make a statement was what I was looking for.Seldom you come across pieces with Indian ethnic traits which remind you of your roots and yet can be carried so effortlessly in a western look. The striking modern take on these ethnic symbols grabbed my attention. The rich fabric and the vibrant colour make it more appealing. With such crop tops you can go both traditional or western.

You guys already know what a midi rings buff I am.This beautiful statement midi ring is the newest addition to my midi ring stash.

Teal Tale - Part Deux

Shirt - Topshop | Pants - Forever 21 | Bag - Local Boutique | Necklace - Zara | Shoes - Forever 21 | Lipstick - Mac Ruby Woo

This is something new I am trying here.No there is no part deux to the teal tale what I had told you all over here.Sometimes when a piece is a centre of attention in a blog post it becomes a little difficult to reuse it.Hence I thought of doing these mini posts whenever possible in which I will pick a piece which I have already used in a previous post and style it differently. If I have done a polished look then il show you a more casual take on it and vice versa. Its just about generating more outfit ideas.
Here I have paired these pants with a neutral top and to maintain a casual look I have gone minimal on the accessories, just a chain necklace and black bag.Black or a white top are basics they can go with all coloured pants.Other combinations with these teal pants would be red or pastel yellow,Cobalt blue and in prints Red Plaid, leopard print, polka dots, BnW aztec print will look good.So here we go I have given many options in case you have a blazer, dress or a skirt in teal which you need to pair or layer you can keep in mind these combinations.

Styllogue turns One

Dress - Marks & Spencer | Bag - Steve Madden from Jabong.com | Pearl Bracelet - Zara | Shoes - Zara | Lipstick - Mac Ruby Woo

June marks 1st anniversary of Styllogue and ever since I started writing the blog it has been a roller coaster ride for me.Right from my understanding for fashion and styling to trends, colour palettes and other facets of the blogging and fashion world. My decision to blog was not a planned one and I have to say it was not a very easy one.Its a personal opinion but I guess the more passionate you are about a particular thing the more nervous you are about the results it will give.Having said that I always wanted to share my love for fashion and with some coaxing and trust from my loved ones I finally gave it a chance. It is my attempt at putting my voice out there through Styllogue in the midst of all the noise the world has to offer. And I want to thank all you lovely readers for reading and following my blog.I'll keep it short because I can go on and on about how elated I am about the blog becoming a year old.

And now coming to the outfit, the moment I saw this dress I fell in love with it.Usually we tend to ignore stripes because most of us have striped tshirts, shirts and some even have blazers and so do I but I wanted a striped dress.I skipped a similar one with only black and white stripes and picked this one.To complete the look have added very few accessories a pearl bracelet and a black sling bag.

Été d'adieu

Crop top - Zara | Maxi Skirt - Koovs.com (Buy here) | Hat - Forever21 | Bag - Accessorize | Sandals - Zara

I have been longing to do a maxi skirt outfit on the blog again. One can never get enough of maxi skirts.Even though I wear lots of maxi skirts and dresses during summers this year as you have seen I have been more diverted towards loose comfortable pants.

Wear it on those relaxing holidays for those beach escapes these skirts reminds one of comfort and ease. There are so many different ways to style when it comes to maxi skirt. This look can be transitioned from day to night and from seasons to seasons.I have spoken here at lengths about the immense versatility of this skirt.

I have previously done a flowy pleated maxi skirt outfit in a neutral colour and hence I decided to go for a tube shaped skirt in pink.I have added a printed top and a beautiful hat.Lately I have been struck by the colour pink.I have been wearing lots of pinks lately.Yes as it was not enough in lipsticks and makeup this obsession with pink has now transferred to clothes also.I have worn a pleated pink skirt in a previous post Colourburst and now again pink a different shade though more on the lighter or pastel side. This thing happens to me at timely intervals I get stuck on one particular thing it can be a particular colour or clothing or a pair of shoes. Its like when you listen to a particular song and its the only song you want to listen for days till you get it out of your system.

Well you can treat this as a farewell post to summers soon monsoon will be arriving with pleasant showers. In other news Styllogue completed one year and I am very elated about the blog becoming a year old.I will be writing a proper anniversary post soon.

Mixed Feelings

Kimono Jacket - Forever 21 | Tank - Charlotte Russe | Jeans - Zara | Bag - Forever New | Watch - Michael Kors  | Rings - Aldo | Sandals - Zara

Many times you see a trend or a style sometimes in magazines or blogs or pinterest given it a thought, imagine yourself in it and then you feel it will not look good on you so you chuck and never think of trying it again.A few weeks back while going through pinterest I came across a kimono style jacket, thought about it for sometime and then chucked the thought.
Then a few days later I came across this similar kimono jacket and no I didn't fall in love with it at first sight I tried it and it did look good and exceptionally comfortable considering the temperatures.
Layering in summer with blazers is just an impossible task and for those like me who love to layer their outfits, these airy kimono jackets are a perfect and comfortable piece for summer layering. Here I have paired kimono jacket with basic pieces to let the kimono jacket take center stage. It can be a great cardigan replacement, while adding more interest to the entire look.

Well what I said previously about rejecting something at first sight, we could be right most of the times as we do know ourselves pretty well but sometimes you can go ahead and try it like I did here.
